Read this article on crediting Yogananda’s work in America as being a major factor in bringing the reality of “International Day of Yoga” into such quick manifestation because of His 30+ years of work in the West.
The government of India has named one of its railroad services “Kriya Yoga Express”.  As this was the train that Yogananda used to travel between His Ranchi school and Calcutta [now Kolkatta]
During Yogananda’s work in America He established His one society known as Self-Realization Fellowship through which anyone may take correspondence course to learn Kriya Yoga Meditation techniques for home independent study.
He also authored many books and restored the true teachings of Jesus & Krishna, showing the essential advanced unity of their teachings for world wide dissemination.
His life was a living, walking, display of divinity itself!
