2025 Fire storm and the survival of SRF
Lake Shrine in early January…2025..
A number of years ago, someone had the foresight to keep a service barge on the Santa-Ynez Lake at the SRF Lake shrine.
With the lake as safe water supply, and a gas driven pump with fire hoses, a family of devotees was able to extinguish most of the flying embers that landed on the Lake Shrine property. Keeping the damage to LS at a minimum. Saving wild life and plants, the famous horticultural gardens, and many sacred/historical artifacts from the devastating firestorm of 2025.
Blessings and congratulations to all those who took part in this great and courageous effort at the world renowned Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine located in the Pacific Palisades area of Orange county, SoCal, USA. This is one of Masters’ most sacred sites in America.
For those who are not aware. This Spiritual and horticultural 13 acre jewel was intuitively visualized by Paramahansa Yogananda since His early years. Through a number of divinely arranged situations was purchased by the great Guru in 1949 for just a few dollars.
The tireless Avatar-Yogi and many monastics over the Years were able to bring it to its’ present status as a well know place of spiritual pilgrimage, continually visited by thousands persons far and near each year. It also serves as a local park in Pacific Palisades area.
Members and persons of all [or no] religion are welcome to come to this unique gardens around the Lake for peace, healing and deep Yoga Meditation. There is free parking available at the site.

There are so many unofficial meditation circles around the world
that one may attend and grow with that for various reasons
are not connected with the CA USA senters departments!
Some persons prefer more independence and freedom from
growing top heavy organizational structure.
That was how many new devotees found their way to these great
truths in the first place!
Until the seeker is introduced to a true Guru, the human Ego/Persona
must humbly make that great adjustment from trend hopping to
the sure and profitable obedience raining of one who knows and knows
that He knows!
Your duty then is to learn by doing and serving for a period of
discipleship…Such humble obedience training results in
opening the heavy door of creative intuitive wisdom.
It is one of the great modern blessings of this sacred spiritual divine
path the we have so many unique gurus to work with.
Bear in mind that Paramahansa Yogananda was chosen and
specially trained for this 3rd millennium to upgrade the true
wisdom of the Holy Sanatana Dharma to this modern world
of true seekers!
