What is the most interesting message on the final page of
Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi ?
So many persons have told me “Yes, I’ve read that book”
Actually , you thought you were so entertained that you missed most or
all of its life changing messages. I’ve seen this year after year – so many
persons imagined that they read the book while they were distracted
by the masters wonderful true to life stories Human nature has such an intense desire to be entertained that most persons, as other greats also mentioned. totally miss those messages that can deeply enhance and enrich ones life, and take you from mediocrity to an infinite consciousness you never even dreamed of. Where true wisdom, direction and bliss flower
in the promise of the ages.
Kriya yoga – which is also partially explained in that great book “A/Y,” does transform ones life to a heavenly existence before death. Yet not one person has been able to tell me that they
recall the master’s explanation of Kriya Yoga in that spiritual classic. He does explain it!
In todays world of endless data sources from places with many motives the devotee/seeker must be especially aware of what sources are trustworthy and who would mislead you for their own gain.
“Follow the money” and “you will know them by their fruits” will go a long way to avoiding future regrets.
Also remember “what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul”.

Learning how to really read what you see, and how the Master goes to great lengths to help us gain this great skill from His books the the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons course for home study.
There are many situations in the Autobiography where Master tells us about various great yogis who teach their devotees how to deeply absorb what they hear and read till it becomes part and parcel of your whole consciousness. This transf0rmation must happen in the head and heart.
Yoganandaji takes the devotee way beyond the superficial assumptions of quick read and forget habits of academia.
It takes time , patience, and devout longing for truth and humility to see past the “verbiage of words. ” That is part of Mayas popular but shallow fabrication of this world.
Go deep, let the message become a living essence of your consciousness, not just a passing curiosity and then forgotten! Books and words alone will not bring realization of the wisdom and the power they contain.
As I laboriously studied life and the wisdom of great Avatars such as Yogananda, Lord Krishna, and Jesus and many others over the years – this is the lesser part of what was changing my consciousness, each time I was given something of value it was faithfully put into practice!
Master tells us to avoid this shallow intellectual indigestion syndrome. It was at a time when
my intellect and understanding of consciousness were out of balance that the great Avatar for the third millennium made himself known to me in person the moment I touched one of his everliving books[ the sayings of Yogananda]. Never was I consciously seeking
a Guru, but at that moment beyond time – He vividly revealed Himself to me for the fourth time. On three previous occasions he showed himself to me through a mag article or photos only, given to me by friends!
Aldous Huxley and His highly acclaimed then rejected “Brave New World.”
Although it has been made into a film for TV!
Two of the great publications in the year I was born were two great literary publications “Brave New World,” a fact fiction novel by Huxley, which became a great literary success, and “Whispers from Eternity,” the latter by esteemed and still honored avatar Paramahamsa Yogananda. Whispers from SRF Publishers is still reasonably popular.
In 1954, Huxley wrote “Brave New World Revisited.” Why?
He learned that his novel “Brave New World” was so popular at First because of its entertainment appeal, but few cared for its prophetic and accurate message.
To accept the message of that novel, would require society to make great changes!
As we have always known, pronouncements of “change ” are for for the “other guy.”
The fanatical missionary never imagines that she should change herself!
Brave New World was prophesying that in a few generations post publication the
worlds populations by and large would become a techno civilization of vast human slavery
to its on devices!
Yet few paid much attention to the authors message, most persons behavior said “just tell us more stories because we don’t need to change or adjust our attitudes of living.”
To change ourselves would be an embarrassing admittance that “something is not quite right
about my life and attitudes.”
Before going into all that, when Huxley came to understand the above, he then wrote a follow up book in 1954 “Brave New World Revisited”, a non-fiction book……..why?
He said the prophecy of his 1935 B N World was written to warn the world where it was heading
many generations into the future if mankind blindly kept worshipping the idols of technology
with such unwitting devotion! Few ever paid any attention to the real message of that valid
prophetic message while the madness of techno worship kept accelerating!
Being a little older and wiser in 1954, Brave New World Revisited was not a novel, it was a clear
and factual dissertation on the direction and harms of civilizations mad rush towards a
mindless machine controlled world bordering on “technocracy” and human mass slavery.
When our latest Avatar from India, Swami Yogananda arrived in Boston in the fall of 1920,
His first lecture at at the world conference of Religions was, “The Science of Religion.”
Like Huxley and the Boston Brahmans of a previous century, the message was clear by the worlds most acclaimed men of wisdom, “Bring your lives into balance before your all become
slaves of your own devices!”
Now, many decades later, as this is all happening before our headlight stunned eyes worshipping the awakening AI giant, the need for awareness, change, and balance is becoming
a “desperate” requirement for todays civilization, no longer a distant vague prophetic story!
“Convenience” is a killer! did those prophetic sages of a century ago know just how quickly we
would find our next plot of quicksand?
“The idea of a balanced civilization is drowning in a sea of excitement, laziness, greed and politically deceitful academic misinformation!
Yes, you heard that right. Academia is leading the way into the present darkness and oblivion!
